Red Dot Warranty Comparison
Warranty terms vary far more than buyers expect, and they matter most exactly when an optic fails. Here is every brand we review, side by side: how long the housing and the electronics are actually covered, whether the warranty transfers to a second owner, and what you have to keep or do to make a claim. Sort any column or filter to the terms you care about.

How we score warranties
The grade reflects the published terms only, never customer-service reputation and never an invented number. Two brands with identical terms always get the same grade. Points (out of 100):
- Housing coverage (up to 30): lifetime scores highest, then by years of coverage.
- Electronics coverage (up to 30): the LED/electronics term, which is often shorter than the housing term and is what usually fails.
- Transfers to a new owner (+20): full credit if transferable, half if the brand doesn't state it, none if it's owner-locked.
- No receipt required (+10) and no registration required (+10): half credit when a brand doesn't publish the requirement, so nobody is penalized for merely unstated terms.
Grades: A Excellent · B Strong · C Average · D Conditional · F Poor. A brand offering only limited-term support is capped at C, and one whose support has been discontinued is capped at F; a brand whose terms genuinely vary by individual product (so a single grade would mislead) is shown as Not rated. A lifetime housing warranty backed by at least five years of electronics coverage cannot score below C.
A high-priced optic does not guarantee a generous warranty, and a modest one is sometimes backed by the best terms in the category. That contrast is exactly what this table is for. Every row links to the manufacturer's official warranty page; terms change, so confirm before you buy.
