As published for Crimson Protect: the warranty "does not cover component parts which have been lost or stolen; or subject to misuse, intentional damage, modifications, or repairs made or attempted by anyone other than a qualified technician following our authorized procedures; or damage to the optics that is cosmetic only and that does not affect the product's operation or performance (as determined by us at our sole discretion). OUR OBLIGATION TO REPAIR OR REPLACE THE COVERED PRODUCT SHALL BE YOUR SOLE AND EXCLUSIVE REMEDY UNDER THE LIMITED WARRANTY." Coverage is also territorial: "The limited and full warranties stated above are only valid for residents of the United States. For residents of other countries, please contact the local authorized CTC products dealer or CTC Customer Service for assistance." Two things the published text does not say for Crimson Protect: whether the warranty follows the sight to a second owner, and whether a receipt or a product registration is needed to claim. The no-receipt and no-registration promises on the same page are written for the separate Crimson Trace Lifetime Warranty, so they are not recorded as terms of this one. The Free Batteries For Life programme is not part of the warranty either: it is "available for certain qualifying Crimson Trace branded products manufactured before January 1, 2021", and Crimson Trace states it "is not a warranty".
