Stacking a magnifier behind a red dot only works if the two optical centerlines land close enough together. How we source this
Every optical-axis height, eye relief, diopter range, and flip-clearance figure comes from the manufacturer's own spec sheet or owner's manual, never a retailer bullet point or a forum estimate. A field the manufacturer doesn't publish is shown as "not published," never filled in with a guess. Every row below shows its source link so you can check the figure yourself.
The height-match rule: two independently published manufacturer numbers for the same nominal co-witness height commonly differ by a fraction of a millimeter from rounding, so we call a pairing height-matched when the two axes are within 1.0mm of each other. Between 1.0mm and 3.0mm apart, the magnifier's eyebox should still show the dot, but the sight picture won't co-witness cleanly with irons, so we call it workable with caveat. Past 3.0mm, or on a raised/NV-height mount a magnifier's flip range can't reach, we call it not recommended.
Only 1x optics host a magnifier. A magnifier goes behind a sight that doesn't magnify on its own, so a 3x or 5x prism scope is never a pairing candidate here no matter how its height measures. A 1x prism is fair game: it sits in front of a magnifier exactly the way a reflex sight does.
A manufacturer's own warning outranks our math. When a maker publishes that two of their products shouldn't be paired, we quote it and keep that pairing out of the recommendations, even when the heights line up.
Eye relief and flip-clearance issues never fail a pairing outright: they're comfort and mechanical caveats, shown alongside a match that's otherwise sound. When a manufacturer hasn't published a clearance figure, we say nothing rather than assume it clears (or doesn't).
